Irrational thinking, Depression and High-Risk taking are predominant with Extreme Positive Ion conditions, thus higher suicide attempts and hostage situations may occur.

Expect more of an aggressive response from suspects.

Drugs use may rise on these days, so be prepared for Drug induced responses.

Understand that you may also be adversely affected by positive ions and your response in negotiations might need to be tempered.

If the suspect is receptive, the negotiator may want to place an active negative ion generator (plug in or battery powered) within a few feet of the subject to counteract the positive ion effects. Active Negative Ion Generators can be purchased from some Department stores and drug stores or the internet for under $200 USD. Usually the are sold as Air Purifiers. Make sure that the purifier is equipped with a negative ion generator.

A particular model of Negative Ion Generator utilizes radio waves to emit negative ions through walls. These models are quite expensive and we have not yet researched these devices to see if they can generate negative ions through walls. If they do, these devices could be used in close proximity to the suspects without their knowledge.

Positive Ion Winds may also trigger aggression, violence, higher rate of suicide attempts in areas with these winds such as the Chinook in Calgary, Santa Ana in California (many other Positive Ion Winds around the world are listed here).
